International specialty property/casualty insurer and reinsurer Catlin Group Limited has announced the appointment of Andrew McMellin to the post of Catlin US chief executive officer.
McMellin, presently the firm’s deputy chief underwriting officer, will assume his new position on 1 September and retain his seat upon the Catlin Group Executive Committee.
Catlin US has its headquarters in Atlanta and operates from 20 offices.
Its present CEO, Richard S. Banas, will become chairman of Catlin’s underwriting hubs in the Asia-Pacific region and Canada.
Catlin Group Chief Executive Stephen Catlin said that he was pleased to announce that McMellin would succeed Banas as US CEO, and went on to say that McMellin had distinguished himself during his 13 years with the firm.
