President Obama is confident he'll be at the podium for the next inauguration in January -- and he's already predicting better weather.
A supporter in Colorado today told Obama he attended the 2009 inauguration, and noted that "it was cold that day."
Replied the president: "This one is going to be warmer."
"I'm looking forward to it," responded Jim Osborne, a Los Angeles attorney who saw Obama at a restaurant in Boulder, Colo.
"That's my goal," Obama told Osborne.
The high temperature on Jan. 20, 2009, Obama's Inauguration Day, was a mere 30 degrees.
The exchange came after Obama stopped in at the Buff Restaurant, a breakfast place, en route to a campaign speech at the University of Colorado.
After placing an order, Obama chatted with some of the customers, including a middle school Spanish teacher.
"My regret is that I didn't study my Spanish hard enough," Obama said.
Aides later said the president ordered the "Ole skillet." Potatoes topped with chile verde, jalapenos, white onions, tomatoes, cheddar cheese and two eggs any style. Side of toast.
