6 Minutes: Oh the Places You’ll Go!

Dr Seuss Book Oh The Places You'll GoDr. Seuss books bring back so many good memories for me, particularly of my son as we read the entire series together. :D

It happens to be Dr. Seuss's birthday on March 2nd, and so this morning I sat down and watched a video of the "Oh The Places You'll Go" book - which really hit me in a whole new way today...

Follow along with me, because this will be six minutes well spent. ;-)

March 1st is Read Across America Day. It's also "Optimism Month" and World Book Day is also celebrated in March. Why not kick off the month with a FUN classic?!

Here's the video I watched this morning, of Oh The Places You'll Go in the Dr Seuss collection. If you're like me, I'm betting it brings back some great memories!

But pay close attention... because this time around it reminded me of our "internet adventure" and seemed a lot like the process most people go through when starting and building an online business. I'm curious if you agree:

Two of my favorite snippets from the book are:

"unslumping yourself is not easily done"

"and when you're alone, there's a very good chance, you'll meet some things that scare you right out of your pants"

LOL. So true, right? :D What about you - what were your favorite parts??

It seems so fitting considering our recent discussions on motivation, focus, success, what drives you, embracing where you are while focusing on where you're headed (ie: goal setting), etc.

Interesting factoid:

"Oh, The Places You'll Go!"

According to Publisher's Weekly, this remains one of Seuss's best sellers, mostly because it's evolved into a go-to graduation gift. I know I personally received two copies of this for my high school graduation. And four years later, after college, I was thankful... because they made such great kindling to keep me warm when I couldn't get a job. -source

In celebration of Dr. Seuss's Birthday, this week only, you can get a free gift and a great deal on Dr. Seuss classics. If you have younger children in the family, this is a great time to introduce them to some of the best (and most fun!) books of all time. ;-)

I thought the video made for a fun "coffee break" this morning, and found it interesting that it struck me so differently at this point in my life - than it did when I was a child, or when I was raising my children. I'd love to hear your thoughts on "the places you'll go" (online!) :D and what stood out to you most.

It's funny how a classic children's book can illustrate a point so clearly!

I look forward to hearing your thoughts...

Best,
