How to Make Micro Communities Work For You

Guest Post by Dee Coxon

Hi there to you all you lovely people from the Lynn Terry tribe!

I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to have this chance to speak with you today and how grateful I am to have this opportunity through Lynn to share my message.

Nothing for sale today folks - no dollars or pounds needed - just your attention for a few minutes. :D

And it‘ll be worth it because you will so get something out of this today...

Just so you know from the get go, I’m going to tell you about Micro Communities and then I’m going to ask you to help me with two things please.

In essence Micro Communities share something among their members that is exclusive to them, whatever that may be. The lovely Lynn Terry is a perfect example with her Micro Community members sharing an interest of marketing specific goals. Of course all of you entrepreneurs out there are leaders of your very own Micro Communities and are ultimately members of many more.

This Micro Community concept led me to recently build the first official UK group of Sustainable Social Networking Micro Communities (SSNMCs). Newly launched there are 35 UK locations to the network with more to follow. The concept is to offer a free intensive information sharing platform targeting micro geo-locations.

Micro communities are ideal when the wider platforms are just too big to meet your needs; they serve many people in different ways: In business they’re a great FREE online tool to extend your reach and promote your brand.

Offline they increase footfall to your business by letting others in your locality know that you exist. And for personal and recreational reasons, they provide a brilliant support network on your doorstep. Think about it; why spend time building a global online following when you own a brick and mortar coffee house in a small town - and you don’t sell products online? And that’s just one example; the possibilities and ideas for using micro communities to increase your reach are endless.

Also I’m just starting to build my followers on twitter so please take a moment to follow me @onlinehour and believe me when I say; by sharing my post with your followers you’ll be doing something fabulous for someone today and to that end you will be embracing the law of reciprocity” in all its glory.

Thank you so much for taking the time to get this far, I do appreciate it and want to wish you luck with your own micro communities whether you build your own, or join one in your back yard.

With warmth and deep gratitude,
Dee Coxon
